Marukyu – Did you know?







History
Marukyu celebrates its 100th Year Anniversary in 2010


Staff
Marukyu has over 500 pro staff globally.
The longest serving employee is Mr Kazutoshi Nakamura, who has been working for Marukyu for more than 60 years.


Baits
Marukyu uses over 600 different ingredients.
Marukyu currently sells approximately 300 different baits.
Marukyu's products are enjoyed by users in over 20 different countries.


Factory Production
The Japanese factory is the size of three football fields.
It is automated and can produce approximately 100,000 packages of bait per day.


Warehouse
Marukyu's warehouse is completely automated, with all operations completed via computer and robots and can store 2.5million packages.



Shipping
The rotary rack can store 4500 cases of bait for immediate dispatch.
Including Marukyu's distribution centres and overseas shipments Marukyu can ship more than 10,000 cases in a single day.



Research
Marukyu researches bait and its effect on the environment with The University of Marine Science and Technology in Tokyo, CEFAS in the UK and other government organisations.
Marukyu's lab is fitted with a Gas Chromatograph and Mass Spectrometer to identify different amino acids that influence the effectiveness of fishing baits.
Marukyu has full-time researchers working solely on product development.
